The Custodians Earth Solution Symposium
Plastic in nature is eaten and breathed in, but with what consequences?

BioDesign Foundation, together with the Navy and in collaboration with the University of Naples Vanvitelli, presents The Custodians Earth Solution Symposium. The first international symposium on the pathologies caused by microplastics for human health and biodiversity, will present the results of the most recent national and international studies that find an indisputable link between exposure to microplastics and some human diseases. The project The Custodians Plastic Race - Italy, the nationwide coordinated clean-up week from 6 to 12 October 2025, will also be presented.
The event will take place at the Salone delle Colonne, EUR Piazza Guglielmo Marconi 26/C in Rome.

The race against time to clean up the planet!

The Custodians Plastic Race |
6-12 ottobre ITALY 2025

The Custodians Plastic Race: a global pursuit for nature.

A collective action against plastic pollution in the interest of national and international public health and biodiversity, to prevent further formation and dispersion of microplastics. From 6 to 12 October 2025, the National Clean-up Week will see institutions, companies, associations, armed forces and citizens united in one single task force to clean up the Italian territory, on land and at sea, in a coordinated and capillary operation.

Globally, The Custodians Plastic Race is the first initiative that has succeeded in creating a heterogeneous task force. Institutional bodies such as the Italian Navy, Coast Guard, Guardia di Finanza, Civil Protection, law enforcement agencies cooperate with civil bodies such as national and international sports federations, universities, schools, companies with their own employees, associations, NGOs and volunteers, each involved according to their abilities, to carry out coordinated, simultaneous and capillary clean-up operations to intervene across vast territories.
